I’ve been thinking bout a parabolic reflector so that it’s their own lights blinding them.
Put it on a swivel so you can keep it directed into their eyes as you pass them

Why would you not just automate this at that point? The opposite of Adaptive Driving Beams, a laser that permanently blinds anyone in an oncoming pickup truck.

Its amazing how this isn’t a problem with semis.

I hate American driving culture. As a semi truck driver, I’m governed at 65 mph, and almost everyone driving slower than me or distracted by their phone will only speed up when I am trying to pass them, including and especially other semi truck drivers. Then they will slow down every time I get behind them. Then when I do start to pass them again, sometimes they will put their brights on to make it difficult for me to judge when I can pass them safely, and it’s often small cars doing this. Americans are such passive aggressive drivers, and it’s hell driving around them.
Until you meet a biker while going downhill and kill them instantly.
It’s facing the wrong way

It seems like newer cars also have an auto-brights feature that will happily blind anyone in front of you if the street lights are too dim.
Yeah they’re supposed to detect oncoming drivers and automatically turn them off until they pass, but they’re very inconsistent.
Just keep one of these handy and practice while parked.

Might get one of these so I can use a crosswalk without getting flattened
You would probably want something with more flood to light up the area in front of you, vs a bright tight beam. Something like this one:

i remember a reddit post of someone who made a flip-up mirror that you put in your back window, so when someone was behind you with these you’d flip it up and reflect their light back at them. it’s a fun idea but i assume highly illegal.
