Well now theyre all gone i guess.
Destiny is still probably the best looter shooter to ever exist, nothing i have played even comes close I dont know how both bungie and sony managed to fuck it so damn hard
D1 and D2 seem to be art driven games. Some of the shaders and effects still stun me, these huge open zones you just kind blitz through absolutely overflowing with detail.
The way this game and franchise have been astronomically fumbled needs to be studied. So many good ideas and some world class artists and devs, especially the raid team, but upper management just knew exactly how to fuck everyone over every step of the way and keep the players clinging on.
I sunk about 10k active hours into the game (steam says near double that but I’d tend to just leave it running all the time), just clinging on to the good bits and hoping they’d turn things around, but they never did and I finally quit for good during TFS Ep2. The constant layoffs, the way everything is built for engagement metrics, content “vaulting”, constant bugs that don’t get addressed for months to years, power creep out the ass completely trivializing endgame, it was just a mess, but somehow at the same time nothing else really came close.
Well, Bungie themselves announced that they’re gonna revive Destiny 2 next year by bringing back the vaulted stuff, plus eventually more stuff from og Destiny
Expect more news in Feburary after their new celebration event
Guess Marathon didn’t cover the gap enough
The only people left are the executives who crashed and burned it in the first place. Sony purged everyone who actually did things.
:yea:
But doctor said I should try and think positively sometimes
Perhaps you should go see the great clown Pagliacci, he always cheers me up.
thanks im cured
I am aware of their plans but like all of bungles plans they may just never happen. Also like majority of the studio is gone and they plan to pivot marathon to pve content which they struggled to do for destiny 2 with a full sized team
They flat out admitted in the last blog post that the unvaulting and “future plans” were solidified with an external partner before the last layoffs were announced
Sony learning the microsoft way
I’m just sad Marathon was a looter shooter and not something closer to the OG games.
