The year of the Linux desktop??
Global Linux desktop usage is just a hair over 4%. Steam pushes gaming to 5%.
Not this year. Not next year.
it was years ago for me already
Same. I’ve been using some flavor of linux or BSD since the late 90s, but the bar for entry HAS to come down to equivalent Windows level of ease of use in order for plebes to use it. It isn’t adopted at Windows rates for dozens of reasons that have been hashed to death already.
I moved a year or two ago and the bar for entry has dropped down close to windows levels, the problem is that installing an OS is still more than people want to do. If major computer retailers were offering something like Mint by default and Windows as a paid upgrade, like some gaming computer retailers do, you’d see a quick jump in Linux use just due to the convenience.

entirely in user space with no hypervisor potential for being ultra-pwned? i am pogging out of my gourd

It might be genuine slang actually, but i have only ever seen the phrase “i am pogging out of my gourd” in one place…you watch NL? 🧐
…maybe…

If there’s no hypervisor needed, what does that actually mean? That’s just a normal crack, yeah? Most “cracks” are also technically bypasses, they don’t delete Denuvo entirely.
Denovo might be more limited on Linux or something. Like generally you don’t use root to install games from steam so Denuvo can’t deploy kernel modules.
I’m still curious if this means windows games on wine or the few games that actually use Denuvo in their Linux builds.
Swapping out DLLs or patching binaries is generally not too difficult on Linux.
But yeah all a bit speculative, I’m not that familiar with Denuvo tbh.
That’s my understanding, from what they are saying. They explicitly said user space only. Might have to finally make the switch
Well, I’m looking forward to more info. It hasn’t been as big of an issue with voices38 doing cracks pretty quickly, but the bypasses do come out quicker. So if they have a method more secure than hypervisors, that’s great. I’m still on zen3 though

I’ll finally get SMTV Vengeance running on my deck without emulation!
Been looking to swap to linux for a while now, and this is just another reason why.
Now if only I can find a video editor worth a shit to work on linux, i’m set
What, you don’t like kdenlive???
never used it and I need something with oomf, and works natively (or as easily as possible) with braw and black magic products
Can someone explain to me why this is possible on Linux but not windows
Because Microsoft like the computer you got for them.
