idk who this person or band is still pretty funny
I thought this was satire until I opened the link. Breaking Benjamin got played a lot on your average rock radio station in 2005, you could say they’re the Fallout 4 of rock bands.
It’s 4 min long of this nerd complaining about the most reddit shit ever, boo get off the stage you fucking hack!
you listen to the whole album waiting for it to be good and it never is?
Run Like Hell features their song Polyamorous as its theme song, basically.
This is literally a bit I’d dream up and post in the fake news comm. Breaking Benjamin is a buttrock band that was popular in the aughts and I think they did the music in one of the halo games? Or am I wrong.
Lmao, yes, in Halo 2 iirc
So I wasn’t misremembering. I have memories of being in gamestops in the aughts and always hearing them over the radio.
It played in the rumpus room level, to be exact.
Okay, I’m almost afraid to ask but… what is buttrock?
Lazily written, usually 3-chord, radio-friendly-bullshit music, though the sound usually evolves with the current trends to some degree. Some examples:
- 1970s: About 85% of Kiss’s back catalogue, a fair amount of Ted Nugent, you could make an argument for Foghat… The term isn’t usually applied to pre-glam/hair stuff, though. But it absolutely applies to Kiss.
- 1980s: Most of the glam/hair metal scene (Motley Crue, Poison, notably a single track by Warrant that the label forced them to put out as a single and ended up being the one song everyone thinks of if you mention vapid 80’s party rock)
- 1990s: Staind, fair amount of Godsmack, Papa Roach, Crazy Town, POD
- 2000s and up: Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin, Creed, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, Shinedown, and more recently Imagine Dragons
…It’s a nebulous label at best, but if you hear a song playing and you immediately think, “ugh, not this shit again,” there’s a good chance it’s butt rock.
When it comes to early-to-mid 2000s rock, there’s actually a difference between nu-metal and buttrock. Crazy Town and P.O.D. are nu-metal, Papa Roach was nu-metal at first and then became buttrock.
2000s buttrock aka ”post-grunge” is anything that sounds like Nickelback, such as 3 Doors Down, Theory of a Deadman, Hinder etc. Also, it sucks and is possibly the worst music subgenre in history, plus it’s full of chud bands.
I think it’s the sort of overproduced, moderately distorted wall of noise style with a male vocalist kind of sleepily whine-singing in between bouts of still-legible fake screaming that was mainstream rock in the '00s? I’m not sure what the actual “genre” definitions are, but that’s how I’d describe the examples I know of.
yup it has a fakenews comm flavor to it
Wait
This isn’t a Hard Drive bit from five years ago?
I gotta sit down for a minute

This band helped me realize that my friends music tastes sucked and I had to find shit on my own. So thanks for making bad music, glad you’re doing well
Everyone is 12
According to redditors he made his mod with AI too, so I’ve no idea why he’s taking it so personally (if that’s true that he made it with AI)
The article said the mod is listed as being AI assisted at least, so yeah
They’ve been Breaking Benjamin since 1999. They still haven’t broken Benjamin yet?
They seem to be getting there, as he spent 5 minutes ranting about game mod beef during a show
ONLY THE STRONGEST WILL SURVIVE

this is brilliant, this is important, we should all listen to checks notes Breaking Benjamin frontman Benjamin Burnley’s opinions on Fallout 4 modding.
incredible work Benji, i can only hope the grains of that other modder’s critique festers into a heap of unhinged posting
Imagine playing modded Fallout 4 and not modded Fallout: New Vegas 🤨
I’m telling you. People are going to rise up against mods. We’re tired of them.
Can’t even go to a concert anymore without mods being shoved down our throats.
Lol all the lamest guitar people I knew in ‘high school’ were breaking Benjamin fans
Oh my god that’s fucking amazing, this person is my hero (NOT complimentary)
At least it’s not Trapt guy doing pedophilia apologism on Twitter.
I know the bar is in hell.
