lolllll as someone who’s been there for when foraged mushrooms go bad, cosigned.
Chicken of the woods is pretty easy to identify and tasty and I still would never ever do it over the internet and even in person my days of eating foraged mushrooms are probably over.
It was like a goddamn zombie movie, we all ate them with dinner and then one by one we all succumbed to the worst food poisoning of our lives. 5 people, 2 bathrooms, so I had to run outside. We were lucky it was just food poisoning.
And that was from one badly identified mushroom in a batch of like 10+ good ones, after a couple years of foraging experience.
Woah I thought this was chicken of the woods. People said that chicken of the woods looks nothing like any bad mushrooms.
What is it then?
I think its chicken of the woods too, its just I am not a mycologist and i dont want anyone to die eating a random mushroom

It’s 100% cotw and safe to eat. The only lookalike mushrooms are jack-o-lanterns and they don’t like similar at all really. Chickens cause some people gastrointestinal distress if they grow on pine trees but that one’s fine unless the tree is in a maintained lawn that gets pesticides.
Don’t worry, it’s a hundred miles away and 25 feet up a tree. Even if I wanted to I couldn’t
I would not like them here or there I would not like them anywhere I do not like Orange fungus, in a tree I do not like them Scrungus-art-thee.

Looks like chicken of the woods, and the good kind too. The COTW with the yellow underside is tastier than the ones with white underneath
