In 2021, the US Senate voted to raise the minimum wage (which sits at $7.25/hr), and 8 Democrats joined with all Republicans to vote against the measure. It failed. I will never forget the image of former Dem Krysten Sinema doing a literal curtsey as should voted no.

Now, far-right MAGA playboy Josh Hawley wants to raise the minimum wage—and not just raise it but more than double it. I hope Democrats realize that, unless they do something drastically differently very quickly, they will lose every forthcoming election. Handedly. MAGA is now promoting a PROGRESSIVE talking point. (And if I was a MAGA strategist, I’d be recommending Republicans keep doing this kind of stuff, which only divides the Left and makes them unwinnable. Credit where credit is due, it’s a great strategy.)

Which is basically what the court said, so it didn’t make it any easier or harder—it just reaffirmed that discrimination claims from straight people should be analyzed the same as discrimination claims from other minority groups. The court didn’t even weigh in on the facts of this case—the woman claiming ‘hetero’ discrimination still has to prove it in lower courts.
