    It literally only exists as a legal liability defense mechanism.

    It is legalese.

    ‘Value’ as a verb could mean in nearly any concievable context or form.

    It just means ‘is important to us in some unspecified way’… and then the actual specifics are in the ToS you probably don’t read.

      Pretty sure there is no law anyone has to use the wording “we value your privacy”. It’s more likely to be just something they put there to make more people consent to data processing.

    The fact that Meta has a C-suite position that’s called Chief Privacy Officer is my favorite absurdly ironic fact.

    I can’t imagine how can anyone apply to that with a strait face and clear conscience, but that’s prpbably true for most positions at Meta, aside from like Beat Games and the like.
