Yea I think maybe there are instances of Christians being great human being, especially the mystics who embrace the radical notion of “love”. But most churches and religious communities function through exclusion. They find their identity through excluding and judging others
I met a pastor many years ago who was one of those pastors who spends all of his time on the streets actually helping people. Cool dude. He had a saying though to describe “most Christians” as he said. “Either he (Jesus) is not who you say he is, or you are not who you say you are.” It really stuck with me and I’ve told it to many a christian in my life since. They get so angry because it’s true. Jesus would not approve of your 4 car garage that you can’t fit your lifted f-450 in, and he would not approve how you walked by that homeless guy and didn’t give him some money. That’s not what the stories about him say he was.
