But they won’t
Let’s just rip that bandage off right now
If we agitprop on this principle, we can radicalize some libs by 2028.
I did a pretty good job with a friend on Tuesday, because she was like “Oh god, it’s like waiting for the results of a biopsy” and I just went, “Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a system where you didn’t feel like every election was the Sword of Damocles hanging over your head?”
“But that would mean getting rid of every Republican”
“Yeah, why do we even have Republicans? Why is there even an option labeled ‘fuck everything up forever?’”
“You’re advocating for a single party government?”
“So are you, but you’re advocating a version where progress gets fucked up every couple of years because it’s ‘fair’ to the absolute worst people”
Then she got the
face and now she’s asking for literatureWow that worked? I’m surprised.
We were both pretty drunk, so I think her brain didn’t filter it out
Huh. Agitprop while drunk. I’ve never considered this, but that’s kinda genius. You just have to do it in a way that doesn’t harsh someone’s buzz.
Historically speaking, the origin of philosophy was Athenian men standing in a circle, drinking wine and each taking a turn to voice their opinion on the night’s discussion topic (For example ‘What does it mean to be beautiful?’), with people then arguing between each other after all opinions had been voiced. One of the reasons Socrates was considered to be such an idol was not only for his ability to tear down basically any argument, but also because he was almost always the anchor, and could hold his drink better than everyone else.
Part of the reason he was so reviled by the elders of the city was because he would basically be invited to parties as a guest of some young up and comer specifically to annoy the shit out of the usually influential host if they were known to be particularly boring, or if they had humiliated them in a previous dinner party. Which Socrates was apparently a master stonecutter by trade, so this would basically be like having particularly irritating union electrician be your plus one to a party at Mark Zuckerberg’s.
So yeah, discussing things while drunk is kinda the origin of philosophy.
I can’t really hold my liquor, so i’m honestly surprised I managed it
I guess practicing with my little town org is having some material benefits
I think if you try to keep it semi-joking and don’t press too hard, you can make some progress.
It’s a solid approach, I’ve used it too
“The United States is also a one-party state. But, with typical American extravagance, there’s two of them.”
What a horrible situation to be in for the democrats, now people will expect them to govern. Absolutely dreadful!

“But we represent everyone, not just the majority who voted for us to do these things”

they won’t, but…

If they do this in the next 2 years I’ll have my severely lactose intolerant ass drink an entire gallon of milk on video

I’m Kenny rogers and this is jackass!
Michigan could have tipped the balance and has been under democratic governance for a while now: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Popular_Vote_Interstate_Compact

Chuck ‘n Hakeem start rappin’ to heavy beat featuring a loop of Pelosi saying “We need a strong Republican Party.”
But that would be rude.
You ever sit back and think how much needless suffering could still be avoided under capitalism if only dems actually cared about things?
Imagine an alternate Obama era where RBG stepped down day one of Obama AND Obama didn’t hand Scalia’s seat to the republicans on a silver platter. 6-3 in dem’s favor even IF material conditions would be the same and Trump won in 2016. How many laws are on the books already to get porky to fuck off, but no one bothers to actually enforce them?

Very sus, it looks like maybe a rebranding/clone of the Occupy Democrats page, possibly the same clout-chasing grifters.
I look forward to all the dem supporting libs
to explain why they can’t actually do the slam dunk thing that would both make people’s lives better and their job of getting elected in the future easier.Somehow, some way, there will always be someone to

I’m also still waiting for my 100 million złotych (10000 PLN) that wałęsa promised everyone 36 years ago but alas, in 1996 Supreme Court decided that even such concrete electoral promises are nonbinding and cannot be taken to court to enforce them.
Demo©®rat$, not democrats.
