Docker was so successful that rent seeking profit extraction is too difficult to do, now we installed oracle alum as a CEO to do rent seeking.
Death to capitalism.
Yeeeep, I never trusted docker.
Maybe I can get some help. I am looking for a replacement for docker. I just want to run server based services in sandboxed containers on a local system for a few users. I also want some sort of package manager (much like docker) where I can lock it into my own repository. Finally I need a watchdog to watch the containers, update them, and maybe allow me to link to any runnjng service from a single domain (I can build that myself probably). I essentually want to spin the whole set up into a very simple linux image.
Probably podman?
Wait… What? Docker is the fucking backbone of my goddamn home server!!! What the actual fuck?!!
I never ended up adopting docker. Tried a couple times, but always thought it made things more complex rather than simplifying shit.
