As far as I’m aware the discord mobile version doesn’t upload the video. It’s all done locally on the device and then what’s sent to discord is either “yes they are an adult” or an estimated age figure (could be either).
Of course they could be lying, but sending a video from the device should be quite easy for anyone to prove they’re lying no?
For now. A year or two down the road the terms of service get updated and now they do collect the video. It’s just habituating the public to let go of any expectation of privacy.
I kinda figured they didn’t really need the media itself. Im assuming this all needs some AI shit to work (how else is it realistically going to judge age?), so even if it processes it locally, it can still send some LLM abstracted form of the media back and not technically be lying.
A human wouldn’t be able to reconstruct it into the video again, but ChatGPT will start having dreams about Roblox kids and Discord gooners faces.
